Ever wonder how to care for your industrial artefacts but don’t know where
to begin? Join us for a day of learning about the care and maintenance of
industrial artefacts. This hands-on workshop will provide you with the
knowledge and confidence to move forward with developing a preventative
conservation and treatment plan for your collection.



This workshop will provide you with:

·        Overview of the care and conservation of industrial artefacts

·         Basic understanding between restoration, conservation,
preservation and maintenance

·         How to develop a maintenance plan for a specific artefact or your
entire collection

·         An understanding of conservation terms and resources

·         Information about impact of the environment on industrial
artefacts

·         Information about wood, metal as well as mixed materials care

·         Documentation and condition reporting tips

·         Proper techniques and hands-on training from a professional
conservator





This training is suitable for museum professionals and volunteers
responsible for industrial collections.





Ticket prices*:     $75 for non-BCMA members

$50 for BCMA members



*Price includes lunch; please indicate any dietary restrictions when
registering for this event.
