The White Rock Museum & Archives is seeking a contract School Program
Developer from July to December 31, 2018. Full job posting is attached.
Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, the incumbent will be responsible for
designing, developing, and piloting three museum programs for Grades 3-4,
6-7 and 10-11 that relate to expand on stories within our permanent gallery.
Each program will clearly outline the Prescribed Learning Outcomes for the
Province of British Columbia.
The incumbent is not responsible for delivering the programs (excepting the
pilot sessions), but preparing the documents and materials for the museum to
deliver these in future. You will recruit, train, direct and oversee the
work of an initial cohort of volunteers who will implement the programs
going forward. There is a small spending stipend for materials required to
develop the programs.
Background Requirements
Your education will include a Master's degree in related disciplines such as
Museum Education, Museum Studies, History, Education, Anthropology, and/or
Culture Resource Management. It will also include associated experience
including supervisory, curriculum development, or teaching roles or an
equivalent combination of training and experience.
