Online Art Auction for Gallery Fundraiser now open

May 8, 2018 - Kelowna, BC: Starting today you can preview and bid on the thirty-one amazing works of art that will be available for purchase at the Kelowna Art Gallery's annual Appetite for Art Fundraiser.

The works of art range greatly - including everything from Okanagan landscapes to still lifes to abstract pieces that make use of bold, bright colours. The works are in a wide variety of media, including, oil, acrylic, and watercolour paints, textiles, mixed media, graphite, inks, and glass. They also come in all shapes and sizes, which should appeal to a wide range of budgets and wall spaces.

The art auction and works can be seen at www.kelownaartgallery.com.

"We couldn't be more pleased with the fine works donated for this year's fundraiser," says Nataley Nagy, Executive Director at the Kelowna Art Gallery. "The generosity and support from the art community has been tremendous. We are also thrilled to give everyone the opportunity to bid on a work they like through our online auction."

Participating artists include: Moozhan Ahmadzedegan, Rod Charlesworth, Lee Claremont, Sharon Clarke Haugli, Cool Arts Society, Nathalie Denise Coulombe, Jan Crawford, Brazen Edwards, Jane Everett, Sara Gagnon, Lindsay Victoria Germaine, Ken Gillespie, Angela Hansen, Jessica Hedrick, Jim Kalnin, Maureen Lisle, Hanss Lujan, Jolene Mackie, Anita McComas, Mary Smith McCulloch, Jo McKechnie, Fiona Neal, Kyle L. Poirier, Wendy Provins, Liz Ranney, Bonny Roberts, Grace Shaw, Sage Sidley, and Terry Thomson.

Proceeds raised from the auction go towards supporting children's and educational programming at the Gallery. They also support local artists - many of the participating artists have elected to receive 50% of the proceeds from the final sale price.

The online auction, hosted by 32auctions.com, closes on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 5:00 pm.

Guests attending the fundraiser on Saturday, June 2, 2018 will have the opportunity to place additional bids on the works of art at the event.

A small number of tickets for the Appetite for Art Fundraiser are still available at $120 per person, or four for $420. They can be purchased directly from the Gallery by calling 250-762-2226.
