[BCMA] Student nurse uniforms available for transfer

Hello BCMA members,



For the past 20 years, the Alumnae Association of the Royal Jubilee
Hospital School of Nursing has maintained a small museum and archives,
collecting artifacts related to the history of the school and students.



This year, the Alumnae Association will be dissolving and, although most of
our collection has been transferred to the Royal BC Museum and Archives, we
are still looking for permanent homes for half a dozen student uniforms and
an assortment of gold pins.



The student uniforms consist of a blue, pin-striped basic with white apron,
bib, collar, and cuffs, dating primarily from 1950-1970.



The pins come in two sizes, the smallest were presented to students
beginning their second year of training and the larger size (see below for
a sample picture) were presented upon graduation. Many of the pins have the
student's name and grad year engraved on the back.



If any of these would be of interest to your institution or if you have any
questions at all about our collection, graduates of the school, or upcoming
