New Exhibits from the North Vancouver Museum and Archives

The North Vancouver Museum and Archives present two new exhibitions: Ships, Spans and Streetcars: Designing Transportation on the North Shore at the Community History Centre in Lynn Valley (3203 Institute Rd) and Early Entrepreneurs of Burrard Inlet at the Delbrook Recreation Centre (851 W Queens Rd).

Ships, Spans and Streetcars: Designing Transportation on the North Shore seamlessly incorporates photographs, engineering drawings and illustrations from our archival holdings with design models and shipbuilding artifacts from the museum collection. The designing transportation theme invites visitors to explore innovations in bridge building, metal casting and electric streetcars. The exhibit on view at the Archives until the end of May 2019. Public hours are Thursdays & Fridays 12 - 5:00 pm and Saturdays 10 am - 5:00 pm.

Early Entrepreneurs of Burrard Inlet explores the lasting legacy of entrepreneurs and industrialists Sewell Moody and Charles H. Cates. This new exhibit at Delbrook Recreation Centre investigates their contributions to the development of North Vancouver and how North Vancouver became connected to trade and ports across the globe. Find this exhibit in the main hallway, to the right of the reception desk.
