David Suzuki will Open New Exhibit at the Maritime Museum of BC

The Maritime Museum of BC is pleased to announce the launch event for the new exhibit titled The Lost Fleet: The Seizure of Japanese-Canadian Fishing Vessels in WWII, on loan from the Vancouver Maritime Museum. This launch event features keynote speaker Dr. David Suzuki as well as Dr. Jordan Stanger-Ross and Michael Abe.

Date: January 24^th, 2019
Location: Maritime Museum of BC, 634 Humboldt Street, Victoria BC
Time:
* Doors open at 6:30 PM
* Talks start at 7:30 PM
* Reception to follow at the Maritime Museum of BC

Cash bar will be open before and after the talks.
Speakers:
* Dr. Jordan Stanger-Ross, Associate Professor at the University of Victoria, and Project Director of the Landscapes of Injustice;
* Michael Abe, Project Manager of Landscapes of Injustice; and
* Keynote Speaker: Dr. David Suzuki, environmentalist with personal connection to the forced internment of Japanese-Canadians

With special guest, Maritime Museum of BC Artist-in-Residence, January to March, 2019, Marlene Howell who will talk with guests about her new show titled “A Series for Contemplation”.
