Hello everyone,
Here is a friendly reminder about this opportunity for a sponsored registration, to attend the 2019 ACA at UBC Seminar and Symposium<http://acasymposium2019.sites.olt.ubc.ca/>.
More info from the ACA at UBC Chapter is below.
UBC Library’s Irving K. Barber Learning Centre is one sponsor of the event.
For our sponsorship, we have three complimentary registrations.
In alignment with our province-wide community engagement mandate, if you are external to the UBC Vancouver campus, you’re eligible to apply for one of these.
In order to do that, please send me a short message that includes: where you work, your website address, and how the Seminar and Symposium would benefit your activities.
The deadline is noon on Friday, January 25th.
A decision will be made by Monday at noon, in order to still allow for early bird registration, should you not be successful.
All the best,
Gordon

The Association of Canadian Archivists Student Chapter at the University of British Columbia (ACA at UBC) is delighted to present its annual international Seminar and Symposium, Policy Matters, which will be held from February 14th to 15th, 2019.
The event is held at the UBC Vancouver campus, which occupies ancestral and unceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking Musqueam people.
Whether to enact legislation and regulations, to implement standards and codes of professional ethics, or to meet the demand for the use of new technologies and societal or community requirements, policies guide nearly all aspects of recordkeeping, archival, and information practices. Recent technological and cultural shifts mean that records and archives professionals increasingly have to reconcile demands internal to the profession with those of their stakeholders, partners, users and society at large.
The 11th annual ACA at UBC Seminar and Symposium will explore the multifaceted role of policy in the history, present and future of the records and archives professions.
Reserve your place at the Seminar and Symposium now! Early bird registration is open until January 31. Students pay $10. General rate is $40 during early bird registration and $50 after. Register at: https://www.showpass.com/acaubcsymposium2019/
We look forward to seeing you there,
The ACA at UBC
