Thanks Kirstin,
I can access Grant Connect through Volunteer Victoria, not sure if the Greater Victoria Public Library still has it (they did when it was in paper form….) Grant Connect at least offers the option of a one month subscription, which I might consider as it would be easier than heading into Victoria.
Cheers

Hi Lee;
No experience with Foundation Search, but I have consistently declined purchasing because I am not convinced that in our day to day operations we have the staff resources to use the software consistently and effectively, write the applications and then do the follow up on the applications etc. I can see the software sitting unused for many weeks/months at a time as we do not have a dedicated fundraising staff. We might have a burst of activity around it, but then something will undoubtedly take our attention away from it. Just my own assessment of our capacity. I think the software will be like a shiny new tool, used a lot in the beginning, but then not very often to warrant the cost.
Our local Squamish library has a subscription to Grant Connect. Maybe other libraries have a similar arrangement. Squamish gets their annual funding for this from the local community foundation. The limitation is that you must search from the libraries public computers, but it does save on having to pay for your own subscription. We have not used it often but have and it was useful.

Hi Lee,
My experience with these systems is that there are few Foundations willing to support Museum efforts. In a previous position, our Association spent $9000 for a multi-year contract with FS and after many, many attempts, only received one grant of $1500. Wonderful system, but not for Museums. Just my opinion.

Hi Everyone,
Once again we have been approached by Foundation Search to make use of their product.
I wonder if any of you have had experience with this service?
Can any of your compare it to Grant Connect (Imagine Canada)
Cheers
