  Hello Anissa,

*We are currently accepting applications for Language Gathering and Sharing
Grants!*

The First Peoples’ Cultural Council is offering grant funding for
language-focused gatherings that bring together First Nations communities
and organizations in British Columbia to share about their current and
future language revitalization projects and plans. The grants may be used
for formal or informal gatherings with two or more communities or
organizations that have the same language, for the purpose of sharing
information and resources and forming positive relationships for language
revitalization.

FPCC recognizes that high travel costs and a lack of funds for meeting
expenses can be a barrier for multi-community meetings.

*There are two project options within this grant:*

   - *Language Gathering and Sharing* events with neighbouring communities
in the same language group to share successes and prepare for the future
of your language. This funding is intended to support you to showcase your
successful language projects and strategies, share resources, and form
informal and formal language alliances with other communities that share
   the same language.

   - *NEW! Community-to-Community Mentorship* projects in which a team from
one community visits and/or collaborates with a team from another
community. The visiting community will be able to learn and implement
successful language revitalization models and strategies such as: language
nests, adult immersion programs, language planning and other language
strategies. This way, both communities will develop and benefit from a
language revitalization partnership that will nurture the work of language
   revitalization in their respective territories

*Timeline*: The current funding call is for gatherings that will happen
between July 2019 and March 31, 2020.

*Deadline to apply*: Eligible applications will be funded in the order in
which they are received until the project fund is expended for the current
year. January 31, 2020 is the last date that applications will be accepted
for funding in the current fiscal year.

* Funding Amounts*: Funding requests should be between *$2,500 - $15,000*.
NOTE** Applicants may apply for both projects, but will be awarded up to a
maximum of $15,000 per applicant for one or both projects.

For more detailed information about the projects funded by this grant,
eligibility and timelines please go to the grants page to view application
form. <http://www.fpcc.ca/language/Programs/Language-authority.aspx>
