[BCMA] Deaccession First Nations paintings

Hello,

The Kelowna Museums is deaccessioning a collection of paintings painted by a local amateur artist, Oliver Jackson, who was British. Many of the paintings are First Nations themed. There are some portraits, landscapes, and wildlife paintings. I have attached a few pictures so you can see the quality and a bit of the content. Some of these are great to open discussions on admiration vs appropriation.
Some of the people are named:

-          Chief Dan George

-          Dominic Charlie (Squamish)

-          Chief Sheiks Tlingit

-          Willie Peter

-          There is another name that I cannot read. Others may or may not be portraits of real people.

They are available for transfer to other museums and heritage or public institutions. Recipient museums are asked to cover any mailing and shipping costs.
