*Announcing the Call for Nominations for BCMA’s Awards for Outstanding
Achievement!*


British Columbia’s museums, art galleries, Indigenous cultural centres,
historic places and other cultural heritage organizations are filled with
colleagues who are doing outstanding work in our sector. These people
deserve recognition for their excellence in special projects, programs,
exhibits, philanthropy, research and/or volunteerism. On behalf of the BCMA
Awards Committee, we would like to invite nominations for the 2019 BCMA
Awards for Outstanding Achievement to highlight contributions to the
museum, art gallery and cultural heritage sector. We invite all
BCMA members to look at your circle of co-workers, partners and
stakeholders to identify and nominate those who deserve to be recognized
and honoured with an Award.


The Awards annually recognize projects of excellence from museums, art
galleries and cultural centres across BC. The projects and people who are
nominated come from a vast array of institutions – from large, provincial
institutions to small, all-volunteer run community organizations and
everything in between. The Awards committee welcomes and encourages
nominations that champion the diverse array of staff and volunteers who
work hard every day to deliver inspiring visitor experiences. Each year the
BCMA recognizes the outstanding work done by *you*, your colleagues and
partner organizations.


Please consider nominating a colleague, volunteer, or even yourself, for
any of the following awards:

·         *Award of Merit *– Excellence in Community Engagement

·         *Award of Merit *– Excellence in Exhibitions

·         *Award of Merit *– Excellence in Collections

·         *Innovation Award*

·         *Distinguished Service Award*

·         *Museum Service and Stewardship Award*

It is not necessary for nominees to be members of the BC Museums
Association.

*The deadline for nominations is May 31, 2019.* All award winners will be
announced and celebrated at the 2019 Annual Awards Gala event which will
take place at BCMA’s conference in Prince George, B.C. on October 2.
