Just a reminder that BCMA is presenting a workshop in partnership with the
Alberni Valley Museum on Monday, March 25.

*Caring for your Collections: The Long Road to Deaccessioning*

*Monday, March 25, 2019 – 9:30am – 4pm*

As museum collections grow year by year, storage space is becoming limited
and causing a strain on staff time and resources. But before you can start
cleaning house, you need to ensure the foundation of your collection is
solid so you can prepare from the ground up. It’s a long road to
deaccessioning!

BCMA invites you to join Luc Desmarais as he guides you through how small
museums can lay the groundwork for collection clean-up and deaccessioning
projects in British Columbia. From policy, to inventory, and ethical issues
to disposal, Luc will map out your journey to a refined and tidy
collection. Participants will be introduced to BCMA’s new Deaccessioning
Tool for Small Museums along the way.



*Fee:  $40 (BCMA members); $90 (non-members)*

Please note:  This fee does NOT include lunch. Please bring your own lunch.
Morning coffee and afternoon energy break will be provided.
