Hello BCMA Members!
I was hoping to get a little help from the community!
Our facility is located in a City building, and our operating budget is
largely provided through municipal grants. While we work very closely with
the City, we do operate independently, and are governed by a
community-based not-for-profit society.
We have recently been approached by the City to see if we would be
interested in entering into a contract with them to curate the exhibits in
an upcoming community building owned, and otherwise operated, by the City.
The initial idea is that this agreement would be a series of one year
contracts (at least at the beginning), with the intention of having the
arrangement continue indefinitely if all goes well.
We are now looking for examples of similar kinds of agreements/contracts
that may exist within the BCMA community, as we have no direct experience
in negotiating this type of arrangement. Any advice or examples on how to
navigate the components (salary, time expectations, insurance/liability
etc.) of such an arrangement would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much!
