[BCMA] NVMA Chief Dan George: Actor and Activist Traveling Exhibit available

NVMA's traveling exhibit "Chief Dan George: Actor and Activist" is available for exhibit this fall.

"Chief Dan George: Actor and Activist" is an exhibit exploring the life and legacy of Tsleil-Waututh Chief Dan George (1899-1981). The exhibit examines Chief George's influence as an advocate for the rights of First Nations peoples and his career as an actor. Although centered on Dan George, the exhibit delves into significant events and individuals in the First Nations rights movement in BC and Canada, and the history and culture of the Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations in North Vancouver.

>From North Vancouver this exhibit traveled to the U'Mista Cultural Centre in Alert Bay. Next it will be exhibit at the Sidney Museum starting on National Indigenous Peoples day in June until late September 2019.
