Hi everyone

I will be teaching a museum studies class at Langara College in the new year and my students will be working with a small group of ethnographic objects from Oceania. They will be researching them and making storage and display mounts. The material includes mainly organic materials such as wood, textiles, shell.

I'm going to be purchasing materials (I've consulted the Canadian Conservation Institute guidelines for recommendations) and was hoping this very helpful and resourceful community can help with suggestions/ ideas of what to buy and where!

  * For making storage trays/ boxes: is corrugated polymer/plastic sheet or acid-free paperboard better?
  *   For padding/cushioning: is ethafoam/polyethylene foam a good choice?
  * For wrapping objects: polyethylene (PE) foam sheeting and Tyvek?
  * For handling: what type of gloves do you recommend that I have the students wear?

Finally, where is the best place to purchase these materials?

Thanks very much in advance for any help you can provide!
