Hello BCMA members!

I just heard from the wonderful folks at the Canadian Conservation
Institution (CCI) that they received insufficient requests for treatment on
objects for the upcoming year. For those of you who are not aware, CCI is
able to assist cultural heritage institutions with expert objects
conservation at little to no cost (I think the only cost to your
institution is shipping the object to CCI's lab in Ottawa).

Specifically, this year CCI is looking for more applications for:

-metal objects,

-books,

-wood/furniture, and

- other objects made of organic material.

I am encouraging each of you to look into your collections and see if you
have any objects that are in need of major conservation and then take
advantage of this opportunity. The deadline has been extended (past October
15) but you may wish to apply asap.

Further information about this important service can be found here:

All the best,

Anissa
