[BCMA] Internship Opportunity

Revelstoke Museum and Archives is accepting applications for the intern
position of Collections Manager. The successful applicant will be a
post-secondary graduate up to the age of 30. The applicant will be a
Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee status. The successful
candidate will be responsible for accessioning museum artifacts, entering
data in the collections management program, ensuring the proper conservation
and storage of artifacts, and preparing artifacts for inclusion in an online
catalog. 

 

Preference will be given to graduates in the field of museum studies,
library and archives programs, Canadian history, anthropology, and related
fields. Above average computer skills are required. Strong verbal and
written communication skills in English are required. Applicants are
expected to study preparatory materials and to take a brief written test
indicating their understanding of museum policies and procedures. 

 

The job will take place at Revelstoke Museum and Archives in Revelstoke,
B.C. This museum and archives was established in 1962 and is currently
housed in a heritage building. The collection focuses on the social and
industrial history of the community and region, and the museum has dynamic
exhibits and vibrant community programming. The museum website is

The position will begin on September 14, 2020 and conclude on March 19,
2021. The position will pay $20 per hour, and the work week will be 35
hours.
