REMINDER: Deadline for the BC Arts Council PIVOT program is January 4, 2021.

The Pivot Program supports the B.C. arts and culture sector in adapting their organizations, programs and practices in response to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Maximum awards of $50,000 and the deadline is January 4, 2021.

The Pivot Program intends to support:

  * Organizational Development and Transition - Projects that support organizations to undertake significant strategic initiatives to address organizational capacity needs and manage transition, including human resources, governance, community engagement and outreach, revenue diversification, and/or development projects. Projects will demonstrate a clear strategic and mission-driven approach to the overall development of the activity and will propose specific enhancements or shifts in the organization's overall capacity and position as a result of the project.

  * Adaptation in Artistic Practices - Projects that support a shift in artistic practices towards innovative forms of creation, production, development, presentation or exhibition. These projects will be responsive to the new realities of the 21st century; including digital transformations, reduction of green-house gases, responding to equity/diversity/access concerns, and developing new ways of operating in the current context of COVID-19.

Full details around eligibility for organizations and eligibility for proposed projects can be found on our website:

The BC Arts Council acknowledges it carries out its work on the traditional territories of Indigenous nations throughout British Columbia. We pay our respects to the Elders, past and present, descendants and custodians of these lands. We honour the knowledge keepers and the continuing relationships with Indigenous peoples in BC that develop through our work together. The BC Arts Council is grateful to the Lkwungen (Songhees) and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) ancestors and families, on whose traditional lands we operate our main offices.

COVID-19: We are committed to supporting B.C.'s artists and cultural organizations through this difficult time. This includes updating our policies and programs as necessary to match the challenges the sector is now facing. The most up-to-date information will always be posted on our dedicated COVID 19 FAQ page<https://www.bcartscouncil.ca/funding/covid-19-updates-and-faq/> and individual program pages.
