Today the Vernon Museum and Archives has two items available for museum transfer:
For those of you who saw the blond burled walnut dressing table we recently had available and thought 'hmmm, close, but not enough burled walnut' I have good news, we found the matching headboard and footboard! Both pieces are walnut with a burl finish, and were once part of a single sized bed. They were made by the terribly English sounding Archibald Kewrick and Sons, LTD, who were indeed based in England. All three pieces are still available. (989.109.105)
We also have available a treadle sewing machine, made in Minnesota. It comes in its own table, with elegant metal legs. If it was your New Year's resolution to learn how to sew then I have unfortunate news; studies have shown that 80% of us will never achieve our New Year's resolution. But that's alright in this case, as the machine does not appear to work. However it's still a very nice sewing machine that can double as a table.

I am happy to send photographs or more information, but as usual, shipping costs will be your museums responsibility, and in some cases there will be an extra fee for shipping materials. If you are interested please contact: Carolyn.ben at vernonmuseum.ca<mailto:Carolyn.ben at vernonmuseum.ca>
