Hello,

Here at the Vernon Museum and Archives we are looking to purchase a new collection database system. We are looking for:

1) Something that is user friendly, which won't be too confusing for volunteers to use.
2) Has the ability to store images.
3) Can be accessed at different computers across the museum, as most of our computers are hooked up to a network and not a hard drive.
4) Isn't very expensive
5) From an established company that's not going to vanish in a few years.
6) Something we can transfer our Access database onto without entering it all again by hand!

I'm not expecting to find something that meets all of those, but right now we are just using Access and would like something that can grow with our collection and provide better searching options. Do any of you have any collection databases that you recommend? Any that you don't recommend at all?

Thanks!
Carolyn Ben.
