In anticipation - and celebration - of Heritage Week (February 17-23), BCMA
invites Paul Gravett, Executive Director of Heritage BC, to lead this
month’s webinar on the state of heritage and its future in BC.  Paul will
report on his work in 2019 with the State of Heritage Provincial
Roundtables which encompassed 26 meetings and involved nearly 500
participants who shared their ideas, aspirations and challenges. Exploring
eight themes, the roundtable participants delved into the definition of
heritage and its evolving practice, the identity and future opportunities,
the opportunities of collaboration, and the stewardship of the environment.
The roundtables were always thought-provoking, inspiring, and sometimes
even surprising. In this webinar, Paul will discuss the results from the
roundtables and together, we can explore actions that are needed to
overcome the obstacles and to achieve aspirations to keep BC’s heritage
sector thriving into the future.
