Doors Open Richmond moves online for 2020
Richmond, BC – Take a peek behind closed doors as this year’s Doors Open Richmond heads online, delivering Richmond’s vibrant arts, culture and heritage scene to your screens at home. For a full week starting Saturday, June 6, discover over 30 sites in Richmond straight from your mobile phone, tablet or desktop. Check out the entire list of virtual Doors Open Richmond activities at www.richmondmuseum.ca/doors-open<http://www.richmondmuseum.ca/doors-open>.
Doors Open Richmond is presented by the Richmond Museum Society in partnership with the City of Richmond. The event welcomes people from Richmond and beyond to learn more about what happens throughout the city. While this year’s online event will be different than in previous years, it will continue to celebrate cultural diversity and civic awareness by inviting the public into places of worship, cultural centres, local businesses, as well as museums, heritage sites and civic spaces.
This year will see the addition of 15 new sites including Gateway Theatre, Richmond RCMP, Yuu Japanese Tapas, Lamajoun Armenian Restaurant, Scotch Pond and Lulu Island Winery.
Doors Open Richmond online content will be posted through the Richmond Museum’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms. Access content by following the Richmond Museum by searching the hashtag #DoorsOpenOnline.
Every day between June 6 and 13, new videos and behind the scenes footage will be posted of participating sites, including our front line heroes at BC Emergency Health Services Station 269, interviews at Richmond East Catholic Church and a special tour of Richmond City Hall Council Chambers. All participating sites will be posting exclusive content that showcases their operations and employees, as well as interesting attractions, artifacts or products.
Doors Open Richmond 2020 is organized by the Richmond Museum Society in partnership with the City of Richmond and with support from the Government of Canada and the Richmond Heritage Commission.
