*Welcome Back! **The Vernon Public Art Gallery Re-opens its Doors to the
Public*



The Vernon Public Art Gallery will be open to the public starting June 15,
2020. The Gallery will re-open with modified hours and new safety
procedures in place, to protect the health of their staff and visitors.



*June 11, 2020 **– Vernon, BC: *The Vernon Public Art Gallery is excited to
announce that they are reopening their doors to the public. Starting June
15, 2020, the gallery will be open from 10am-4pm Monday through Friday,
with the first hour 10-11am set aside for seniors and those with health
concerns . The gallery welcomes visitors and encourages people to come and
view their exhibitions, while practicing proper social distancing
precautions.



To maintain a safe environment, the gallery will require visitors to follow
sanitization and distancing protocols, limit the number of guests in the
gift shop and galleries, and has installed Plexiglas dividers where
necessary.



“We are very excited to welcome the community back to the gallery. We
recognize our position as a gathering place for the community to connect
and engage with the arts and are eager to resume that role. Although it
seems like we can see some light at the end of the tunnel, we ask that our
visitors continue to follow the necessary health and safety precautions while
visiting the gallery to ensure we can remain open to the public. ” Dauna
Kennedy, Executive Director.



Although the VPAG’s exhibitions and gift shop are now open to the public,
their education programs such as “Mini Artists” and “Family Saturday” will
not resume until the gallery feels it is safe to do so. In the meantime,
the gallery will continue to provide art activities and education programs
through online platforms. Please stay connected to our social media for the

The Vernon Public Art Gallery is a not-for-profit, charitable organization
committed to fostering an appreciation of the visual arts for all members
of the community. As the oldest art gallery in the Interior Region of
British Columbia, the VPAG has been an important part of cultural tourism,
and a centre for educational and cultural activities in the Okanagan for
60+ years. The VPAG is constantly growing and is currently looking forward
to its exciting transition into its larger facility at the new Cultural
Centre in Vernon. We hope to consistently develop and increase our funds to
allow us to promote visual arts in the broader community by presenting more
