[BCMA] Theatre Seats

The Pantages Vaudeville Theatre Circuit had two Pantages vaudeville
theatres in Vancouver – one built
in 1907 and the second in 1917.  Both are gone.

In 1938 theatre seats travelled from one of Vancouver’s two Pantages
Vaudeville Theatres to the newly built theatre / auditorium in the Trail
High School.  (We don't know why.)  Then in 2001 the seats were replaced. 
For a few years the old vaudeville seats went into storage and finally to
the landfill.  In 2006 about half of the seats went into the Beaver Valley
Arena here in Fruitvale.  The seats stayed for five years.  Then most went
to the landfill.

The Beaver Valley and Pend d'Oreille Historical Society rescued about
eighty of these theatre seats and stored them with the Village of
Montrose.  But, now we must remove them from storage and send them to the
landfill.  We are hoping to keep eight or ten.  Quite simply finding a
place for these few is going to be hard.  The rest deserve a better place
than the dump.

I haven't seen the seats for many years and have no idea how many ends
with a cast 'P' (Pantages) and how many 'middles' exist.  Although our
restored exhibit seat has two ends, one seat would never have had two
ends.  A row of twenty or thirty seats ganged together using
'middles'would have had two ends.

I've attached a picture of some seats as they were in the local arena. 
This was their 'blue period' and this is how they look today – except
dismantled.  We have restored one as an exhibit object and pictures of
this seat are also attached.  Certainly they have potential!

We are expecting to toss the seats March 30th at 11 a.m.  If you want some
