A heads-up for museum and heritage sites in Metro Vancouver:
Someone recently tried to scam our museum into refunding their admission fees. Originally beginning with a false claim of "bad service" (saying we sold a ticket to their family 15 minutes prior to closing so they wanted their money back - which we had proof that it did not happen), this escalated into an accusation of "siphoning from their bank account" and a false threat of an RCMP report being filed. A copy of their "bank statement" led us to believe that he has tried the same scam with other museums and galleries.
If this sounds familiar, please contact me and I can provide information on how to deal with this individual.
