[BCMA] #MuseumsEh For Fall

Hello Museum Peers,



Sandra Borger here, from the Museum of Surrey. Many of you may have seen
the hashtag #MuseumsEh bouncing around on social media. If you have not,
take a minute and see what your colleagues have been up to! #MuseumsEh was
started in May as a movement to encourage Canadian museums to spread
uplifting content on social media with monthly themes during the pandemic.
It was, and continues to be, a way to connect our followers together and
grow our online community. In May, we used the theme of spring, and in
June, we looked at baking, and over the summer we used
#DiversityIsOurStrength.



With back to school and facilities reopening after the summer, September
got a bit lost in the fray. Never fear! We’re back and we have a theme for
October and November – FALL! We are in the Fraser Valley of British
Columbia, and over here the leaves are beautiful shades of orange, red, and
yellow. The rain is hitting hard, as it does on the “rainy coast”. There is
a chill in the air and pumpkin spice has taken over menus everywhere. Post
your fall-related photos on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter and use the
hashtag #MuseumsEh. Be creative – post things that are orange! Post things
that are back to school-related! Post things that are warm and cozy! Post
things with cider or pumpkins! Do you have a garden – post photos of how it
looks in the fall!  We can’t wait to see you have.



Do you have a theme in mind for December? We would love to hear it! Send us
your ideas.
