Join the Chinese Canadian Museum for a conversation on Lunar New Year celebrations! Learn about the traditions and customs around the most significant cultural event for Chinese worldwide, right here in BC.

What kinds of activities and traditions are common at this time, and why are they important? Classic foods, mythical creatures, and lai see/hong bao (red envelopes) - you have probably seen these, but what do they mean?

Learn the richness of these traditions from Dr. Imogene Lim and Dr. Zoe Lam who will share some of their earliest memories and insights from Lunar New Year, which kicks off the two-week long Spring Festival. They will also walk us through some small family businesses in Chinatown that you can support and where you can pick up some delicacies. We promise this will be a most delicious talk!
