Canadian charity Story Money Impact <https://www.storymoneyimpact.com/>
(SMII) is inviting Canadian museums and galleries to opt into a two-film
virtual program/exhibit featuring independent documentaries, to take place
in March and April. This idea was born out of conversations with SMI and
the Coalition of Museums for Climate Justice
<https://coalitionofmuseumsforclimatejustice.wordpress.com/>.
Each film will be made virtually available for a fixed period of time to
the museum members. SMI will produce one discussion panel where the
filmmaker and experts will discuss the issues evoked in the film.
SMI will also share digital impact materials: surveys, learning resources,
action resources that answer the question ‘what can I do?’ that will be
shared with the network. The extent of these materials will depend on the
budget available.
Please know we shall only be able to go ahead with this initiative if we
have enough funding raised through opt in participation. That is why we are
doing this assessment to see if we can proceed.
For this series of two climate films, SMI is looking at the following
programing:
- The Magnitude of All Things
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIVYm31gK5A&feature=youtu.be>,
Canadian, 2020 film
- 2040 <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-rTQ443akE&feature=youtu.be>,
Australian, 2019 film
*If you are interested in this project, please complete the following
survey by Monday, February 1 at
noon: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/fortheclimate
<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/fortheclimate>*
The project will only go ahead if a minimum threshold to make up the
financing to green light this initiative is reached.
