[BCMA] Update from Canadian Heritage - New MAP Contact

Hello everyone,

I've been asked by Canadian Heritage to share some exciting news with our
members, Shannon Bettles is the new Western Region contact for the Museums
Assistance Program (MAP).

Based in Chilliwack, she will be working as the Senior Program Advisor in
the MAP team. Shannon joined Canadian Heritage from the Parks Canada Agency
where she has been working as a curator at the Fort Langley National
Historic Site. She brings over 10 years of experience working in the
heritage sector in both her professional and personal pursuits. For
example, she has worked with the BC Museums Association and was president
of the BC Historical Federation. Shannon holds several certificates and
degrees in cultural resource management, art history, museum and gallery
studies, and a graduate degree in library and information studies. In
addition, she is very active in the BC ringette sports community.
