<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b>May 20, 2015 – Kelowna, BC:</b> It’s not often that wildlife and the inside of airports mix – so visitors on their way to the departure gates at Kelowna International Airport (YLW) may do a double take. A small
flock of Canada Geese appear to be rising up from a body of water into the sky. They have been painted by skilled local wildlife artist Valerie Rogers.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Rogers’ installation consists of seven large canvases painted in high realism that have been staggered in height to greater emphasize the notion of the depicted geese actually lifting off. The piece is on view
to the public for the next six months in the Kelowna Art Gallery’s forty-foot-long satellite gallery space located near the security screening area.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">As Canada Geese are not exclusive to the Okanagan, the piece will likely resonate with travelers from other places in North America who are coming through the airport.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Valerie Rogers lives and works in Salmon Arm, BC. She has trained with several professional artists and has won numerous awards for her work.<o:p></o:p></p>
