As such, the University of Alberta Museums is deaccessioning 1,845 historical artifacts and 64 natural history specimens from the Dentistry Museum. We ask you to please forward this notice to the appropriate person within your institution to review the attached list should there be an interest regarding any of the artifacts or specimens. In keeping with our policy, we are offering for transfer these items to other Canadian public institutions for a period of thirty (30) days as we strongly believe that they should, wherever possible, remain part of Canada's cultural heritage.</div><div><br></div><div>Throughout this initiative, we have followed the highest standards of practice and have insured this process conforms to government legislation and policy, as well as the University of Alberta Museums and Collections Policy. Our process included several reviews by dental and natural history experts, the Dentistry Curator and several Collections Management staff within the University of Alberta's Museums and Collections Services. As per our policy, the list of selected artifacts and specimens received final approval for deaccessioning from the University of Alberta Board of Governors.</div><div><br></div><div>Should your institution be interested in any of the listed artifacts or specimens, we can share further information and images with you.
