<div dir="ltr">Hi Tammy,<div><br></div><div>It looks like you have a lot of suggestions to work with, however, I wanted to bring your attention to an app that may be of use. While interning in the web department at the ROM, I learned about their use of technology in exhibition spaces. In order to offer the best digital experience for visitors, they use an app called Kiosk Pro. While it has many great features, you may be interested in its online/offline function. It essentially stores content on the device, which is helpful if it disconnects from the wifi or if it won't be connected to the internet at all. I'm not sure if this would work for the touch screens that you'll be using, but it's definitely worth looking into.</div><div><br></div><div>Here is a link to the website: <a href="http://www.kioskproapp.com">http://www.kioskproapp.com</a><br></div><div><br></div><div>Also, I recently worked on the early stages of a complete redevelopment of a small house museum. Because much of the content will be in the form of historic audio clips and videos, I recommended they develop a website using Squarespace to host the content. I also suggested they use Kiosk Pro so the website can be in offline mode. This worked well for them because they do not have in-house programmers or a large enough budget to develop an app or the standard for such technology. </div><div><br></div><div>I hope this information helps! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.</div><div><br></div><div>Good luck with your project!</div><div><br></div><div>All the best,</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><font face="garamond, serif" color="#45818e"><b>JAIME CLIFTON-ROSS</b></font><div><font face="garamond, serif" color="#45818e">Museum & Heritage Professional</font></div><div><font face="garamond, serif" color="#45818e">@MisshapenPearl</font></div><div><font face="garamond, serif" color="#45818e"><a href="http://jaimecliftonross.weebly.com" target="_blank">jaimecliftonross.weebly.com</a></font></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:rgb(31,73,125)">For a stunning touch-screen display that would well suit a Sports Hall of Fame, check out one at the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle. On a large vertical screen, there is
a constant descent of small circular frames with photos and names of historic Seattle people of all sorts. On can touch any “bubble” and a frozen frame will display the basic story of that person. A video touch button in the frame opens a video re-enactment
of something from the person’s life. The basic screen with descending photos looks like a gentle snow storm. It is terribly intuitive and simple to use, and deeply engaged everyone I saw passing through that gallery.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">I have somehow managed to get co-opted onto a committee working to establish a local Sports Wall of Fame. They have plans for an interactive digital format presented on a touch-screen monitor, with sections for
the history of various sports and sports facilities and biographies of the inductees. The idea is that viewers can choose which sports or which people they want to learn about by touching menu options. The committee talks about a website, but I think that
might be non-techie speak and that it wouldn’t necessarily need Internet access as long as all the content is accessible in one unit. The content will include text, still photos, and video I’m assuming there will be audio associated with some of them), and
it will be displayed indoors at the local Rec Centre.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
