<p><font size=3 face="sans-serif">The Gulf of Georgia Cannery, built in
1894 in the historic village of Steveston, is a living monument to the
individuals involved in BC’s fishing industry. The National Historic Site
is operated by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society, a non-profit society.
Working in partnership with Parks Canada, the Society works to preserve
the history of the BC fishing industry and present it in an engaging and
relevant way. The site is open to the public year round and welcomes 55,000
people each year from across the Lower Mainland and around the world. </font>
<p>
<br><font size=3 face="sans-serif"><i>Under the supervision of the Manager
of Audience Engagement, the Education Programs Coordinator is responsible
for the development and delivery of high quality group programming for
children and adults offered by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society. </i></font>
<br>
<br><font size=3 face="sans-serif"><b>Responsibilities:</b></font>
<p><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Coordinate
booking of group programs including scheduling personnel</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Deliver
educational programs and tours preferably in English and French</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Develop,
maintain and evaluate educational programming for elementary, secondary
and post-secondary school groups, youth and adults learning English, preschool
classes and senior groups</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Coordinate
interpreter and volunteer training for educational programs</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Oversee
the delivery of outreach activities related to education programming</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Provide
reports related to educational programs</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Assist
with program promotion to schools and group organizations</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Assist
with the selection, evaluation and recognition of interpretive staff</font>

in developing educational programs for children, youth and/or adults.</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Experience
in delivering programs to children.</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Understanding
of basic marketing principles.</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Experience
in customer service.</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Experience
working with volunteers.</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Fluency
in English and very strong French language skills required.</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Experience
working with English as an Additional language students (children and/or
adult) an asset.</font>
<br><font size=3 face="Symbol">· </font><font size=3 face="sans-serif">Knowledge
of BC Ministry of Education curriculum an asset.</font>

<br><font size=3 face="sans-serif"><b>Hours:</b> 40 hours/week Monday to
Friday</font>
