<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">Cold War era to be sure. Not likely an RCAF emergency ration as they were marked RCAF, likewise for the Canadian Army rations of that era. It is possible that it could
have been from one of the thousands of kits put together for what they called "Emergency Preparedness". These were kits assembled by the Government of Canada during the height of the Cold War and stored right across Canada in various Government buildings and
warehouses. Think Doctor Strange Love and their mine shaft gap. During my short and illustrious military career with the 12th Vancouver medical Coy at Jericho we helped to go through one of these kits in 1992 or 93 making upgrades and looking for spoilage
and or repairs and replacements of worn or damaged components. Water, medical kits, blankets (in many cases WWII vintage wool), stretchers (also WWII vintage) etc. etc. One such kit, (and they would almost fill five ton truck) was kept at hangar two of the
Abbotsford Airport up until the mid-late 1970's. I discovered it as a young pre- teen poking around the hangar in the days when it was still Transport Canada and before the airport had been re-activated for commercial traffic. You should be able to more information
on these kits from Emergency Preparedness Canada.
