The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan Presents Two New Workshops</b></span></p><p class=""><span class=""></span><br></p><p class=""><span class="">The Arts Council of the Central Okanagan (ARTSCO) is pleased to be presenting two new workshops coming up the last week of April: one on painting and one for musicians. </span></p><p class=""><span class="">The first is is a lecture and demo from Golden Artist Colour Paints. Presented by Golden artist Shari Pratt, a resident of BC, the lecture will cover technical and practical information on all of Golden Artist Colours products from acrylic paint to gels, pastes and grounds, as well as introduce Golden’s newest products, QoR Watercolors, High Flow Acrylics and the Open Acrylics.</span></p><p class=""><span class="">Shari will also demonstrate various acrylic materials and techniques to enrich your understanding of the medium, including basic tips for exciting textures using gels and pastes, as well as how to extend paint to save money.</span></p><p class="">Each attendee will receive a bag of FREE PAINT SAMPLES to take home!</p><p class=""><span class="">Attendees have a choice of two sessions on Sunday, April 24th 10 - 12pm or 1 - 3pm. $10 per person. Music BC is a non-profit society serving the British Columbia music industry through providing essential information, education, funding, advocacy, showcasing, and networking opportunities. The topic for the Kelowna workshop on Saturday, April 30th will be Modern Media.</span></p><p class=""><span class="">With online media pumping out information at a rapid rate, it’s hard to cut through the noise and get your music into the ears of future fans. The focus of this panel will be analyzing what current forms of media are most effective for marketing acts. Looking at various demographics and how they interact with different mediums, we’ll explore how you can maximize your marketing dollars and think outside the box to make the biggest impact.</span></p><p class=""><span class="">“We’re excited to be partnering with Music BC to present this workshop in Kelowna”, says ARTSCO’s Executive Director Katie Brennan. “Music BC brings a wealth of knowledge in the music industry that our local musicians can really benefit from”. </span></p><p class=""><span class="">Local music man Vincent Jones will serve as the moderator for the panel, which includes Rey Roldan of Rey Bee Inc.
