archives, museums, libraries and universities. For those of you who haven’t heard about this project, the first phase began with post-secondary institutions, and database/search site called
<a href="http://arcabc.ca/" target="_blank">Arca</a>. We’re now beginning the second stage to extend to archives, museums and libraries. There is
<a href="https://news.gov.bc.ca/stories/core-review-strengthens-private-institutions-libraries-and-international-education" target="_blank">
BC Government</a> funding behind project, so it presents a good opportunity for AABC members.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p style="line-height:15.6pt"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">In April 2014, the BC Government announced the creation of a Provincial Digital Library (PDL). A PDL could be conceptualized as a phased, multi-year
project, guided by an over-arching vision of access to the intellectual, historical and cultural record of the Province for the people of British Columbia. In its simplest form, a PDL’s intent is to provide access to a range of materials that may enrich the
intellectual and leisure life of a citizen, showcase the contributions of individuals, organizations and government, and contribute to the economic well- being of the province.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
