<p class="MsoNormal"><b>June 16, 2016 – Kelowna, BC:<i> </i></b>The Kelowna Art Gallery is pleased to introduce a new celebration of Canada Day that will hopefully become an annual tradition. On Friday, July 1, between 10 am and 3 pm, the gallery will be open
to the public for a full day of free hands-on art activities and visual art exploration.
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Choose from chalk art on the sidewalks, or painting at an easel. Big cardboard boxes will be set up on the grassy areas surrounding the gallery for children, families, and all members of the public to paint their artistic visions. There
will also be a drawing activity indoors, and all of the exhibition spaces will be open to view and explore.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">“Canada Day is such a huge celebration in our community,” says Nataley Nagy, Executive Director at the Kelowna Art Gallery, “This year we decided to organize a bigger, more art-filled event than ever before, so that every child, teen, adult,
and senior who stop by the Gallery can take part and celebrate Canada Day creatively.”<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The colourful finished boxes will be displayed at the gallery for a short period of time and they can be filled with non-perishable food items that can then be passed on to those in need through the Kelowna Food Bank. With this in mind
the Kelowna Art Gallery encourages all Canada Day participants, visitors, and spectators, to consider bringing a food item with them to donate.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><i>Canada Day at the Kelowna Art Gallery</i> is free and open to the public, but those interested in participating will need to pre-book to reserve the appropriate number of paintable boxes for their family and friends. To secure a spot
