represents the 150<sup>th</sup> anniversary of the confederation of Canada, a soldifying
moment in the history of this country. Along the timeline that connects us to
that moment on 1 July, 1867, this anniversary is the fulcrum between past and future.
It is a time for celebration and a time for sobre reflection. It is the
conjunction of experiences and a tale to which there is always another side. <i>And…</i> is the acknowledgment of a familiar
story, but more importantly a device with which to add to it and consider what
comes next. “<i>And…</i>” invites the
celebration of this milestone <i>And…</i> a
robust examination of a past more prosperous for some than for indigenous
peoples and immigrant populations. It aspires to look at the accomplishments
and the failures of the last 150 years and take stock of the present so that we
might honour the foundations on which confederation was built by forging a
stronger tomorrow. In this context Two Rivers Gallery is seeking artists from
across BC working in any media to respond to this call with three to six
artworks produced within the last three years in order to add perspectives to
this anniversary and reflect upon the future. </span></font></p><font size="2">
