</span></em><span lang="EN-CA">In October of 2015 through January of 2016, the exhibition
<i>Landon Mackenzie: Parallel Journey: Works on Paper (1975-2015)</i> was on view at the Kelowna Art Gallery, before embarking on a national tour. This major exhibition was produced by the Kelowna Art Gallery and created by Gallery curator Liz Wylie who worked
closely with Landon Mackenzie to identify the over 200 works on paper that were included in this 40-year retrospective.</span><span lang="EN-CA">
</span>The result was a visually rich show, packed with works that provided visitors with an intimate and captivating experience.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">“Landon Mackenzie is a nationally known, Vancouver-based artist, admired for her large-scale works with paint on canvas. Less known are her works on paper often created while travelling, which she produces voluminously as a tandem practice
(or what might be considered a parallel creative journey) to her big paintings. Somewhere between jottings and “finished” works intended for public exhibition, these small paintings speak to the deepest level of human creativity. They function at times as
glimpses into this intelligent artist’s psyche or soul.”<span lang="EN-CA"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

and photography), the media arts or fine craft, in a volunteer or professional capacity.

we allocated $157.4 million dollars towards artistic creation and innovation through our grants, prizes and payments. We also conduct research, convene activities and work with partners to advance the sector and help embed the arts more deeply in communities
across the country. We are responsible for the <a href="http://unesco.ca/en/unesco/home-accueil.aspx">
Canadian Commission for UNESCO</a> which promotes the values and programs of UNESCO to contribute to a more peaceful, equitable and sustainable future for Canadians.
