The Royal BC Museum was founded in 1886, the archives in 1894. In 2003 these two organizations joined. The provincial museum and archives collects significant artifacts, documents and specimens of British Columbia’s natural and human history, safeguarding
them for the future and sharing them with the world.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

the historical evidence of British Columbia. The Museum exists to help society understand change. It is an educational institution that strengthens society through cultural and scientific understanding—helping to create the society of the future.
