<p class="x_MsoNormal">The SHFCB is doing research on a Vancouver photographer, Alphonse Savard, who operated Imperial Photo Studio during the 1880s-1900s. But then he seems to have gone to work at Britannia Beach, though in an unknown capacity.<br>
<br>
Savard took several photos of members of the Chinese community, of sports groups and beauty queens, along with the regular walk-in clients. One of his photos appears on the cover of <i>Brokering Belonging: Chinese in Canada’s Exclusion Era, 1885-1945</i>, by
Lisa Rose Mar.<br>
