instructors from the Canadian Conservation Institute in Ottawa. The </span><span lang="EN-CA" style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif">workshop looks at the
preservation of Indigenous material culture and is designed as an introduction
to the care of collections for staff working in Indigenous cultural centres.
This workshop is presented by the BC Museums Association in partnership with
the Cowichan Tribes. attend a free public lecture presented by the Canadian Conservation Institute.
The presentation will be held on October 17, 7-9pm at the Ramada Inn, Duncan.
This special event is the kick-off to the Heritage Symposium scheduled for

Development Cowichan, CVRD, in cooperation with Heritage BC, Cowichan Tribes,
and the BC Museums Association, A Warmland Heritage Workshop is themed around
linking heritage stories. The purpose of the day long event, held on October
18, is to invite heritage representatives and local government to think
differently about the concept of heritage storytelling and how best to support
heritage. The event will provide examples of how shared history, First Nations
heritage and today’s visitor preferences play a role in a contemporary
storytelling.<b> </b> A limited number of
