<html><head><meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; line-break: after-white-space;" class=""><font size="4" class="">Dear BCMA</font><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">I have been a member of Scouts Canada for 27 years and presently oversee the Scout Museum located </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">at 505 Marigold Road in Saanich.</font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">There, we have a collection of many hundreds of scouting memorabilia items including uniforms, badges, </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">hats, neckers, trophies, pictures, knives and whistles and lots of books etc. etc..</font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">Presently most of our collection is located in one 8’ by 12’ room with other items situated in 3 different </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">locations throughout the building or still in boxes and cupboards.</font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">Over the last several years I have tried to put as much of the material on display as possible via the use of </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">a half dozen glass display cases, numerous bulletin boards and making use of manikins and cork boards.</font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">With the recent loss of our Scout Shop, (i.e. where we sold much of the required scouting uniforms etc., </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">but no longer use due to Scouts Canada going to more online shopping), we now have an empty room in </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">our </font><font size="4" class="">building that is </font><span style="font-size: large;" class="">probably 4 times larger than our present storage / display room.</span></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">At a meeting last night, the 30th BP Guild that oversees Scout House, has suggested that the vacant room </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">could possibly house and display our collection more effectively. It was also suggested that I should reach out </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">to see if there is a volunteer archivist that could possibly assist us archiving our materials and in creating a </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">more enhanced visual display.</font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class=""><br class=""></font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">I am therefore inquiring as to whether or not there may be one or more people in your organization that might </font></div><div class=""><font size="4" class="">be interested and available to assist us in organizing and displaying our numerous scouting items.
