<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The AABC and ARMA
Vancouver Island are pleased to be holding a joint conference in 2020. We are
seeking proposals on the topic of “Creative by Nature”, exploring the creativity
and innovation that archivists and records managers must bring to a rapidly
changing world.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Using the beautiful
natural setting of Royal Roads University as inspiration, we ask how archivists
and records managers find opportunities to employ resourcefulness amid the
current, challenging landscape of rapid climate change, fake news and the transformation
of the modern economy and workplace. How do we continue to grow our collections
and services, weed out the inefficiencies, and tend to what really matters? What
benefits might there be in embracing “organic recordkeeping” and what nurturing
does that require from records managers?</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 0.0001pt;font-size:12pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The AABC and ARMA
Vancouver Island invite the archives and records management communities to
explore these questions. We encourage submissions from individual,
organizational, provincial and/or national perspectives. This conference seeks
diverse approaches to the theory and practice of creativity and innovation in
archives and records management. Proposals should demonstrate a connection to
the conference theme "Creative by Nature" through consideration of

community (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums, Records)</li><li>Ethical access and
culturally sensitive collections</li><li>Digital repositories
and imaging practices</li><li>Records Management
and AI/machine learning</li><li>Innovative access
options (loans, interactive exhibits, linked data)</li><li>Tackling the email
management behemoth</li></ul><p></p>
