This has been made possible through the Museums Assistance Program – Collection Management grant by the Department of Canadian Heritage for our Main Collection Storage Room Upgrade.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Please see attached posting for more information, or visit our website: <a href="https://sidneymuseum.ca/employment/">https://sidneymuseum.ca/employment/</a><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Sidney Museum is a community museum located in Sidney BC, whose collection and exhibits are made up of human and natural artifacts. The Museum will undergo collection storage improvement project including disaster-prevention upgrades to its main collection storage space in 2020. Key activities include purchase and installation of shelving, rehousing the collection according to RE-ORG process. This project will result in the collection housed according to professional museum best practices. The Assistant Director and Collection Assistant, assisted by volunteers, will remove the collection to secure temporary storage to allow for the installation of disaster preventative measures, such as anchoring shelving in case of a seismic event, and reorganize the collection according to RE-ORG standards to maximize storage space efficiency.
