What comes to mind is the concept of a “Whatsit Museum” filled with things like yours. It would be like a Ripley’s Believe It Or Not museum, but based on down home real objects and shared public attempts to identify them or be mystified by them. Every museum has things like yours, and the new museum would be a way to allow them to be collected together in a meaningful manner instead of just lingering unappreciated in the back corners of Collection rooms elsewhere. Surely there is a public need for such a place too, providing a well advertised place for mysterious objects to be identified or puzzled over. There are several on-line discussion lists for this kind of thing, but a small place such as Chase could become an international centre of interest if it actually physically collected and shared the mysteries. Everyone likes a good mystery. The Chase Museum would become a place that is “on the chase" for curiosity information. A stop in there would be a refreshing addition to the long trip on Highway #1.<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Cuyler Page<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Heritage Interpretation Services<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Vernon, BC<o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal>Sent from <a href="https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=550986">Mail</a> for Windows 10</p><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p><div style='mso-element:para-border-div;border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0cm 0cm 0cm'><p class=MsoNormal style='border:none;padding:0cm'><b>From: </b><a href="mailto:bcma@lists.vifa.ca">Moderated BCMA subscriber listserv.</a><br><b>Sent: </b>January 21, 2021 10:14 AM<br><b>To: </b><a href="mailto:bcma@lists.vifa.ca">bcma@lists.vifa.ca</a><br><b>Subject: </b>[BCMA] Sharp Spoon and Not-A-Candle-Holder?</p></div><p class=MsoNormal><span class=DefaultFontHxMailStyle><span style='font-size:12.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p><div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif'>Good afternoon everyone,<o:p></o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif'><o:p> </o:p></span></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Georgia",serif'>I'm really getting a lot of use out of this mailing list!
