<p>Our museum did a Scouting display in 2004. We had a number of
items loaned to us from Margaret McGillvery of Scouts Canada (an
information board and 2 photo albums) and other items donated
through Scouts Canada in Vernon (song book, record book, photos,
straps, badges, belt, vest, hat, scarves and banners) to be
included in the display. Multiple attempts by previous
administrators has failed to find someone to take the items back.
As such, we would like to pass them along to you. Some items could
easily be mailed at little cost while others not so much (photo
albums). We are also happy to hang on to the items until someone
from your area passes through the beautiful North Okanagan and can
pick them up. <br>

have been a member of Scouts Canada for the past 28

Scout leader as well as a Group Commissioner for 2nd
Tsartlip </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">in Brentwood Bay, a Deputy Area
Commissioner for the Saanich Peninsula, a Deputy
Commissioner </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">for Honours and Awards, a
member of the </font><span style="font-size: large;"
class="">Camp Barnard Camp Committee that oversees the </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: large;" class="">Scout camp in
Sooke BC, (i.e. where I have </span><span
style="font-size: large;" class="">created a Ham Radio
Shack), and a member of the </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: large;" class="">30th BP Guild
that oversees Scout House </span><span style="font-size:
large;" class="">where our Scout museum is located. I
have also </span></div>

Scout Jamborees, the last two were held in 2015 &
2019 where I ran a </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">Ham </font><font class=""
size="4">Radio Station which was held in my home town </font><font
class="" size="4">of Sooke, BC, and I have run a
yearly “Emergency </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">Tarp </font><font class=""
size="4">Station" at the annual </font><span
style="font-size: large;" class="">Klondike Derby held
at </span><span style="font-size: large;" class="">Royal
Roads.</span></div>

"Citizens on Patrol and Speed Watch" programs</font></div>

Race” at the annual Sooke Fall Fair</font></div>

the annual Sooke Fine Arts Show</font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">- member of the Westcaost
Amateur Radio Association & Radio Amateurs Canada,
(i.e. Ham Radio)</font></div>

and the Duplicate Bridge Clubs, and</font></div>

<div><font class="" size="4">For the last 5 plus years, I
have overseen the Scout Museum located at 505 Marigold
Road </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">in Victoria BC. This collection
of Scouting memorabilia has been growing for many years,
but </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">basically was kept in boxes and
cupboards. What I have done is create more of a display
type </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">presentation that includes: a)
more than a thousand badges on cork boards, b) more than
a </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">dozen uniforms mounted on
manikins, c) 8 glass cabinets for scout trophies, cups
and </font><span style="font-size: large;" class="">saucers, </span></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">scout knives and whistles, d)
plus a hundred or so Scouting books and neckers etc. </font><span
style="font-size: large;" class="">etc. etc. </span></div>

dismantled our entire display, (which was mainly housed
in a small </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">10’ by 15’ room), as we are
expanding to a room 3 X the size, which will allow for a
better display,</font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">and we have also started
working with a museum mentor to help with our planning
and displays. With </font></div>
<div><font class="" size="4">the Covid-19 virus however, the
move to the larger space is presently on hold until
later in 2021.</font></div>

<div><font class="" size="4">My request to all the other
museums however, is that if you have Scouting
memorabilia that </font><span style="font-size: large;"
class="">you </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: large;" class="">no longer need
or want, and wish to part with we would be most
appreciative, (i.e. mostly small items </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: large;" class="">like badges,
etc. which are less expensive to ship), as we </span><span
style="font-size: large;" class="">are generally good
with most other </span><span style="font-size: large;"
class="">items etc. </span></div>
<div><span style="font-size: large;" class="">I</span><span
style="font-size: large;" class="">n turn, we have many
duplicate </span><span style="font-size: large;"
class="">and triplicate badges </span><span
style="font-size: large;" class="">that we can donate or
trade with you.</span></div>
