With regards to the centre of the universe. I did a bit of research and this should settle it once and for all:

There is no centre of the universe! According to the standard theories of cosmology, the universe started with a "Big Bang" about 14 billion years ago and has been expanding ever since. Yet there is no centre to the expansion. It is the same everywhere. The Big Bang should not be visualized as an ordinary explosion. The universe is not expanding out from a centre into space. The whole universe itself is expanding and it is doing so equally at all places, as far as we can tell.

That being said:

The fact that the universe is expanding uniformly would not rule out the possibility that there is some denser, hotter place that might be called the centre.

Therefore it is possible a location where the snow is denser and the temperatures are warmer could indeed be the centre of the universe. I suppose then you folks out west could rightfully claim to be at the centre of the universe.

Me, I'm quite happy to be about 600km to the right of centre where the snow is light and the temperatures are cool.

Anyway,
I'm a ski guide. I'm also owner-operator/booking agent/maintenance man/wood chopper/water carrier/snow shoveler and occasionally, guide at Dezaiko Lodge a ski touring lodge in the snowier western ranges of the Rockies.

cheers,
