Hello,
now that I have heard it from Peter Tucker and Sean Fraser, I believe
that my last post on the ACMG's board meeting was less than lucid.
Please allow me to clarify:
Everything I reported is a plan that may or may not come to fruition. If
it does, it is a ways in the future. None of it is set in stone. This is
what the Board wants to happen, but the outcome may be different and it
may take a while.
Regarding the Parks permit, the ACMG will try to get Edziza, Babines,
Seven Sisters, and Burnie on the blanket permit. That will take time -
BC Parks quotes a minimum of 140 days. If and when that happens - it
certainly won't be in place for this coming winter - all ACMG members
can guide in those parks according to their terrain guidelines. I
suggested that if there is no use for a particular park, those
interested in it could split the cost for that park among themselves so
it won't get dropped again.
And I will try to get to Burnie in the near future to cut firewood. Help
from you folks would be greatly appreciated.
Hope this one won't get me into hot water.
