To those of you interested in Chinese Canadian culture and history. This is a special opportunity to enjoy great food and learn more about this community.

50 Years of Stories From Chinatown

Join us for a special evening of Chinese Canadian writing history as we celebrate some of the achievements and authors of the Chinese Canadian writing community.
Roy Mah is the founder and publisher of Chinatown News, Canada's longest running English language news magazine for the Chinese Community. A long time community activist with a long public service record, Roy Mah will be presented with the inaugural ACWW Community Builder Award.
Paul Yee is the inaugural winner of the Vancouver Book Prize for Salt Water City, an Illustrated History of the Chinese in Vancouver, and the Govenor General's Award for Children's Literature (1996) for Ghost Train.
Wayson Choy is author of The Jade Peony, winner of the Trillium Book Award, and is the inaugural book for One Book, One Vancouver, by the Vancouver Public Library.
Proceeds from the dinner will go to support the ACWW Emerging Writer's award, and other ACWW activities such as author readings and programs.
ACWW memberships and Rice Paper subscriptions will be a one-time only 50% special rate in celebration of our dinner.
